I was first introduced to Anne Shirley when I was about 11. For those who don't know the Anne of Green Gables series, it's a story about a young orphaned girl who gets adopted and follows her through her life stages and ends with her youngest daughter's adventures.
In a way, I grew up with this series. I probably re-read it every year. When I was 11, I related to Anne in the first book. As I went through uni, I related to Anne in Anne Of The Island.
Now that I've started working, I'm seeing parallels of my life and hers in Anne of Windy Poplars.
Yes, I am currently re-reading it again.
What about Enid Blyton?
